Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy delivered a speech highlighting the developmental works done by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India and Assam since it came to power in 2014 and 2016. Roy cited former CM Sarbananda Sonowal's appointment as a Central Minister in the Union Cabinet and Himanta Biswa Sarma's responsibility for leading the Assam Government since 2021 as evidence of the BJP's popularity among people. He also mentioned recent elections in Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Tripura as examples of the BJP's success.
Roy discussed developmental works done by the BJP government in the Barak Valley, including the completion of the Broad gauge railway line project and ongoing electrification of railway lines. Roy announced several new railway projects, such as an alternative rail route from Silchar to Guwahati via Arunachal-Chandranathpur and Lanka bypassing Haflong and Pahar line, and the development of two world-class railway stations at Kamakhya and Silchar. He also mentioned the Vistadome train, which now runs through the section from Haflong to Badarpur two days a week, and the introduction of three Rajdhanis in the future. Roy's speech highlights the BJP's commitment to development in the Barak Valley and its focus on improving railway infrastructure and facilities for travelers.
