In a major operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police achieved a significant breakthrough by intercepting a TATA DI vehicle on the outskirts of Guwahati, resulting in the confiscation of narcotics valued at Rs 11 crore.

Acting on vital information, the STF, led by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, DIG, STF, and Kalyan Kumar Pathak, Additional SP (HQ), Kamrup-cum-Addl SP, STF, intercepted a TATA DI vehicle with registration number NL 01 08 A 8541. The vehicle, traveling from Churachandpur in Manipur to a district in lower Assam, was intercepted at Amingaon.

Upon thorough inspection, the STF discovered 98 packets of heroin concealed in hidden chambers of the vehicle, with a total weight of 1 kg, 350 gms (without cover). The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is Rs 11 crore. The operation resulted in the apprehension of two couriers, identified as Tomizur Rahman of Wangoi and Abdul Rahim of Lilong, both from Manipur.

Following the successful operation, Partha Sarathi Mahanta and Kalyan Kumar Pathak initiated necessary legal action at the STF Police Station. The seizure marks a significant step in the STF's efforts to combat narcotics trafficking, showcasing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
