Specially-abled boy raped in Cachar; Police shows inactivity
A soul-haunting Incident took place in the Kashipur Part ll area of Cachar district, which questions humanity on various levels. An FIR was lodged in Silchar Sadar by the mother of a specially-abled child on August 30. The FIR was against a boy named Aiyazul Laskar from her very neighbourhood, for sexually harassing her boy by tricking him for a scooter ride, and later took him to a dark corner and did the inhumane act with him.
The mother, in her complaint, stated that her son had been vomiting since August 28. The boy did not open up about anything on the first night but later told her about the neighbourhood man who raped him. Hearing this, they wanted to file an FIR but the locals offered to settle it out of court, it was only after her husband who insisted on filing a complaint, that they finally took this step.
But even filing a complaint wasn't easy for her. The accused showed up at their home with swords, threatening them to take the complaint back or they shall be attacked. The most surprising part for them was that the police was inactive regarding this, and didn't take any action whatsoever.
The police were later questioned about this inactivity, to which the investigating officer, Farid Uddin Laskar didn't have any appropriate answers. He rather contradicted himself when asked about the incident being true or not, to which he said that he has visited the house of the accused and the allegations appear to be valid but they are still waiting for the medical test reports for the arrest of the accused man.
Further, about the attacks that the accused have been projecting, the officer said that the accused is absconding, and they couldn't get a trace of him anyway. The mother is certain that the police is just being inattentive to the case as it doesn't fall under the category of 'mainstream' rape cases that we hear. She is hopelessly urging the police to take proper actions and give justice to her child.
