SUCI (Communist) Leaders and Workers Condemn Israeli Attacks, Urge Global Peace in Silchar Gathering

Under the banner of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) [SUCI (Communist)] Party Central Committee, leaders and workers of the Cachar district committee gathered at the foot of Khudiram Murthy in Silchar, responding to the party's call. Their purpose: to vehemently condemn the ongoing attacks on the Palestinian people by Israel in the Gaza region.

Speakers at the gathering expressed their strong condemnation of the barbaric killings and attacks carried out by Israel, urging peace-loving people worldwide to raise their voices against this violence. They criticized the Indian government's decision not to sign the UN resolution aimed at ending the conflict in Palestine, emphasizing the need for peace, not war.

Former district secretary of SUCI (Communist), Shyamdeo Kurmi, addressed the workers and supporters present, highlighting the indiscriminate killings of hundreds of civilians, including children, women, young people, and the elderly, in Gaza. He pointed out that the attacks have not only claimed lives but also destroyed homes, hospitals, and disrupted the supply of essential items like food, water, electricity, and medicine. Kurmi drew parallels with historical tragedies, referencing the gruesome murders during Hitler's regime.

Kurmi criticized the Indian government's abstention from voting in favor of the UN resolution, stating that such a stance aligns with US imperialism, contrary to the anti-imperialist freedom movement and the traditional role of people in advocating for peace.

On behalf of the party, attendees were urged to unite in demanding an immediate end to Israel's brutal attacks and destruction in the Gaza Strip. They were also encouraged to strongly criticize the role of the Indian government in the United Nations, aligning their efforts with the global call for peace and justice.
