Today, there are less than 15 Hindus and less than 650 Sikhs. What happened to them? Scroll down to continue reading our Analysis.
Before you start your secular love for Afghans, please remember Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded Bharat 8 times. Afghanistan once was a Hindu Region.
It was called UpGanaSthan and Khandhar was Gandhar of Mahabharata. Before we are desperate to give them Shelter, ask them where are my Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists? Gandhara wasn't just a city but an area believed to be inhabited by Gandharvas. It spread from Northern Pakistan across Eastern Afghanistan. Brutal Invader Ahmad Shah Abdali is regarded as the founder of modern Afghanistan- "Baba"
He raided Bharat 8 times but met resistance from the Sanatani Lions. Famous KOHINOOR was with Abdali from nadir shah0, Before it was reclaimed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
In the 90s Afghans, even before the Taliban takeover had a Role in Kashmir terrorism. The JKLF, of local Kashmiris, 1989 onwards was replaced by brutal battle-hardened afghans in the Form of dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen. In 1970, there were 700,000 Hindus and Sikhs of Afghanistan(6% of Afghanistan's population).
Today, there are less than 15 Hindus and less than 650 Sikhs.
What happened to them?
Remember, the Taliban ruled for only 5 years. The ethnic cleansing happened during "democratic" Afghan rule.
If we go through history the Panipat in 1761 when Afghans invaded Bharat every Afghan soldier said: "My mother, sister and wife told me to kiII as many Kαfirs as I can so that I get divine merit for this great religious act (of slaying Kαfirs)"
(reference Fall of Mughal Empire, chapter XXI).
It is to be remembered that the Taliban's strength is 85,000, the Afghan Army's strength is 350,000, the population of Afghanistan 3.5crore, they were trained by US & supplied with an $80 billion fund. How did the Taliban crush the army & rule over Afghans with such little resistance? The undeniable fact is that millions of Afghan civilians love the Taliban. Still, if we see what is happening in Afghanistan right now? People jostling at the airport because they cannot live under the Taliban for a day.
But our ancestors faced this for hundreds of years. They had not converted nor had they fled. It is due to their resilience that we exist.
