Thief caught red-handed by locals and handed over to police in Silchar

In Shyamananda Lane, Silchar, a thief was caught red-handed by locals while trying to flee after snatching a gold chain.

The locals apprehended the thief and handed him over to the Rangirkhari police station. The area has been plagued by thefts for a long time, with numerous valuable items stolen from various homes.

On Monday, the locals successfully detained the thief as he attempted to escape. During interrogation, the thief confessed to selling the stolen items to a man named Sahabuddin.

However, the identity of Sahabuddin remains unknown. The locals have urged the police to swiftly identify and arrest Sahabuddin, believed to be the mastermind behind the thefts, and take exemplary action against him.
