Silchar, Assam: In a grand commemoration of their 25th year, the West Kachudaram Durga Puja Committee near Silchar city has unveiled a spectacular theme for this year's festivities – the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. With meticulous attention to detail, the committee is set to bring these divine incarnations to life through a captivating display of sculptures and multimedia presentations.

The sprawling grounds of West Kachudaram have been transformed into a divine canvas where the tales from ancient scriptures come alive. This year's theme includes the awe-inspiring stories of Vishnu's incarnations, such as Narasimha, Rama, Matsya, Varaha, Parashuram, Brahman, Krishna, Buddha, Kalki, and Kurma. Each avatar is meticulously portrayed through carefully crafted idols and multimedia installations, ensuring an immersive experience for devotees and visitors alike.

One of the highlights of the celebration is the use of a vast pond to depict Vishnu's second avatar, Kurma, the fish incarnation, and Varaha, the boar incarnation. Additionally, the epic battle between Lord Rama and Ravana is ingeniously brought to life, with battle scenes projected more than 15 meters above the ground, creating a breathtaking visual spectacle.

To capture the essence of each avatar, the puja committee has employed 35 expertly crafted idols, each ranging from 8 to 10 feet in height. The entire presentation is complemented by carefully curated lighting and sound effects, enhancing the immersive experience for the attendees.

Sculpturer Subodh Sinha and his dedicated team have worked tirelessly to ensure the faithful representation of these divine narratives. The committee has also incorporated the episode of Lord Vishnu slaying the demon king Kansa, adding yet another layer of significance to the theme.

This year’s Durga Puja celebration at West Kachudaram promises not only spiritual enlightenment but also an awe-inspiring visual and auditory journey through the ancient tales of Lord Vishnu’s avatars. Devotees and visitors can expect to be mesmerized by the grandeur and devotion displayed during this momentous silver jubilee celebration.
