Three dog smugglers caught red-handed at Silchar ISBT
Three dog smugglers were caught red-handed by locals at Silchar ISBT while attempting to transport dogs from Karimganj to Mizoram.
On Wednesday, three individuals were apprehended at the Silchar Ramnagar ISBT after being found in possession of several dogs they intended to smuggle to the neighboring state of Mizoram. The accused had brought the dogs from Karimganj.
The incident came to light when vigilant locals at the bus terminal noticed suspicious activity and questioned the trio.
Unable to provide satisfactory answers, the three men aroused further suspicion. The locals then detained them and informed the police.
Upon arrival, the police took the three men into custody and seized the vehicle loaded with the dogs.
The smugglers and the confiscated dogs were then transported to the police station for further investigation.
