Tragic boat accident claims life of 13- year-old boy in Sonai Purvanchal

A boat capsized in Madhurbond village of Sonai Purvanchal, resulting in the death of a teenager and leaving four others missing.

The incident occurred on Monday. Approximately nine passengers were traveling from Madhurbond village to Sonai Bazar when the boat encountered heavy rain and strong winds.

The boat capsized, throwing all passengers into the river. While four passengers managed to hold onto an electric pole until rescued by another boat, a teenager, identified as 13-year-old Monowar Ahmed, was found drowned.

Search and rescue operations have been initiated by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), with assistance from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
