Tragic collision in Kabuganj: Two seriously injured as cow, scooty, and autorickshaw clash
Kabuganj: A road accident occurred in Kabuganj around 12:30 PM on Wednesday, involving a cow, a scooty, and an autorickshaw, resulting in serious injuries to two individuals.
The incident unfolded when a cow, being taken to the Kabuganj cow market, jumped into the middle of the road. A student riding a scooter towards Kabuganj lost control and collided with the cow. This caused an autorickshaw, with registration number AS11DC1783, coming from the opposite direction, to lose control and crash.
The autorickshaw driver and two female passengers were injured, along with a young man named Arsadul Haque Lashkar, 24, from Bhagadari village, Kochudharam 4th Block, East Sonai. Lashkar sustained severe injuries when the autorickshaw fell on him, leaving him unable to stand due to injuries to his waist. The identities of the autorickshaw driver and the female passengers remain unknown.
Fortunately, the student and her mother, who were riding the scooty provided by the Chief Minister of Assam, escaped unharmed. They reside in the Punirmukh area of Dholai.
Local residents quickly responded, rescuing the injured from the autorickshaw and transporting them to Silchar Medical College and Hospital via a 108 ambulance. Witnesses claim the cow involved belonged to a local trader.
Upon receiving news of the incident, Sonai police arrived at the scene to conduct a preliminary investigation. However, the autorickshaw involved in the accident was not found at the scene, according to police sources. Locals reported that the scooter was taken away by the student following the incident.
