Tragic incident: 13-year-old girl dies in Chiri river after colliding with rock

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 13-year-old girl named Malif Sana tragically drowned in the Chiri river near the Jaipur Sivasthan Road II section, under the current Lakshmipur Assembly.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday at 3 pm when Malif, along with three of her friends, went to bathe in the river as they did on other days.

According to the victim's father, Rajit Singh, Malif was enjoying her time in the water with her friends when tragedy struck. While playing, Malif accidentally collided with a rock in the river, leading to her falling into the water and subsequently drowning. The sudden and untimely death of Malif Sana has left the community in deep mourning, casting a shadow of grief over the area.

On Friday, Malif Sana's lifeless body was brought to Silchar Medical College for postmortem examination. The devastating loss has left family, friends, and neighbors in shock and disbelief, as they come to terms with the tragic accident that claimed the life of a young and vibrant member of their community.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, while the community comes together to support the grieving family during this difficult time.
