Tragic motorcycle accident claims 1 life, leaves two injured in Kabuganj-Sonai road

In a devastating incident on Thursday evening, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Berabak 1st block of Chandpur GP, along the Kabuganj-Sonai road. The accident involved two motorcyclists traveling from Sonai to Kabuganj.

According to local sources, the tragedy unfolded when a cow came in front of the rider and the rider, losing control, collided with a pedestrian and crashed into a tree at considerable speed. The impact of the accident left a pedestrian and the two motorcyclists severely injured.

Upon hearing the loud crash, nearby residents rushed to the scene to provide immediate assistance. The incident was reported to the emergency services, leading to the dispatch of a 108 ambulance and Sonai police.

ASI Kiriti Dutta of Sonai police station, along with a team, swiftly arrived at the location. After conducting a preliminary investigation, the injured were promptly transported to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention. The police also took custody of the involved motorcycle for further examination.

Tragically, Nazrul Chowdhury (58), a resident of Nagadirgram 4th Block, succumbed to his injuries while en route to Silchar Medical College and Hospital in critical condition. The motorcyclist and pillion rider, identified as Sajjdul Laskar and Saidul Haque Laskar, both residents of Nagadirgram 1st block and East Sonair Rakharpar, respectively, are currently undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital.

The community is left in shock by this unfortunate incident, emphasizing the need for increased road safety measures to prevent such accidents in the future. The Sonai police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
