Trinamool Congress demands NHIDCL, urgent road repairs in Silchar, warns of mass protests

Silchar: Trinamool Congress workers were present at the NHIDCL office on Sonaipath Road in Silchar on Friday, pressing for swift repairs on the dilapidated city roads. NHIDCL General Manager Gaurang Deoghore assured that work on pothole repair would commence from tonight.

According to Trinamool Congress workers, NHIDCL General Manager Gaurang Deoghore was informed of the city's road-related grievances.

They expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of information regarding the ongoing drain work in various areas of the city. They accused the Municipal Corporation of initiating road digging without informing NHIDCL, resulting in the deteriorating condition of various roadways.

Trinamool workers Sajal Banik and Rajesh De emphasized the risk posed to commuters, citing a recent incident where a school van overturned in the Silchar Hospital Road area due to a massive pothole. However, no concrete measures have been taken by the concerned authorities so far.

They are compelled to demand immediate action from NHIDCL General Manager Gaurang Deoghore for extensive road repairs in Silchar city. If their demands are not met promptly, they warn of staging larger protests in the coming days.
