In a dramatic turn of events, two individuals were detained by villagers in Jhapirbond, Udharbond, for attempting to commit fraud under the guise of creating Kisan Credit Cards.

According to the complaint filed at the local police station, Rohit Singh, a resident of Jhapirbond, became suspicious when he heard that four individuals claiming to be from the agriculture department were collecting Aadhaar cards to process Kisan Credit Cards at Rajesh Rajbanshi's residence.

Observing that one of the individuals was pocketing receipts generated from a POS machine, Singh and other villagers questioned the legitimacy of their actions.

Unable to provide satisfactory answers, the so-called officials were caught red-handed issuing sales receipts for urea fertilizer instead of Kisan Credit Cards.

Upon realizing their deception was exposed, the four suspects attempted to flee. However, the villagers managed to apprehend two of them, identified as Haru Das, son of Shishir Das from Silchar North Krishnapur, and Rinku Dhar, son of Revati Dhar from Udharbond Durganagar.

The remaining two suspects escaped. The detained individuals were handed over to the Udharbond police, and Rohit Singh subsequently filed a formal complaint against them.

This incident underscores the vigilance of the local community in preventing fraud and protecting their interests.
