Two arrested with 54 grams of suspected heroin in Lakhipur

In a significant drug bust, the Lakhipur Police Station intercepted a scooty at Hmarkhawlien coming from Manipur. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of four soap boxes containing suspected heroin, each weighing approximately 54 grams. The drugs were found in possession of the rider and pillion rider, with two boxes recovered from each.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ngulkholien Khongsai, 32, and Ksiminthang Singson, 32, both residents of Phaital village, Tamenglong, Manipur. The seizure was made in compliance with legal procedures, and the accused have been taken into custody for further questioning.

The Lakhipur police have initiated an in-depth investigation into the case to uncover further details about the drug trafficking network involved. The investigation aims to trace the source and distribution chain of the heroin.
