Two separate ops in Mizoram busted number 4 heroin of worth over ₹19 crore, 1 Myanmar peddler arrested
In a joint operation, the Assam Rifles collaborated with the Excise and Narcotics Department in Mizoram, resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and the apprehension of suspects involved in drug trafficking. The operation, conducted based on intelligence inputs, led to significant breakthroughs in curbing the illegal drug trade in the region.
During a raid in Tlangsam, Champhai district, authorities recovered 295.28 grams of Heroin (Number 4 - Purest form) concealed in 24 packets, with an estimated street value of Rs 2.06 crores. The operation successfully led to the apprehension of a Myanmar national identified as Ensawmmanga (33), who was allegedly involved in drug peddling activities.
In a separate operation in the general area of Zote, Champhai, Mizoram, the joint team seized 25.4 grams of Heroin (Number 4 - Purest form) valued at Rs 17.78 Lakhs. During this operation, a Mizoram-based smuggler named Romalsawma (28) was apprehended, further disrupting the illicit drug trade network in the region.
