Unfair pricing for Convocation dress sparks debate among students.

Assam University Silchar faces backlash by the students for its 20th convocation dress code which was a traditional attire this time. The students were provided a Nehru coat and a scarf with a logo mentioning "University of Lucknow." This new attire has created a sense of dissatisfaction among the students.They have shared their disappointment and anger in various social media platforms.

A student of the University stated that even after collecting a hefty amount of Rs.2500, the authority failed to provide the pupils with good quality clothes and also made the students wear the already used dresses that were previously worn by the students of Lucknow University. Some even termed the attire "shitty" and "worthless". Another student commented that the previous Western dress code which carried a gown and a cap was good enough and satisfactory than this new traditonal attire.

However, there are even admirers too who stood in support of this new convocation attire of the University. One of the students said that the convocation dress is changing across all the universities in India and not just Assam University. Hence, the students should stop promoting the Western culture and should follow our own values and traditions. Therefore, the students must accept the traditional attire gracefully and with pride.
