Unidentified dead body found floating in Barak River under Silchar Sadarghat bridge

In a grim discovery, the lifeless body of an unidentified young man was found floating in the Barak River under the Silchar Sadarghat bridge at 4 o'clock on Thursday afternoon.

Local residents, stumbling upon the distressing scene, promptly reported the incident to the Silchar Malugram police station. In response, a team from the Malugram police station swiftly arrived at the site to assess the situation.

Under the supervision of a Magistrate, the authorities recovered the deceased's body. The body has been subsequently sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. As of now, no information regarding the identity of the deceased has been established.
