Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Virtually Flags off Silchar-Agartala New Rail Service

In a significant development aimed at bolstering rail connectivity to India's North-eastern states, the Ministry of Railways has unveiled a comprehensive plan involving the extension of two train services and the introduction of two new services. These initiatives aim to provide better transportation options and foster improved connectivity in the region.
Guwahati – Dullabcherra – Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express (Train No. 15617/15618): The Guwahati – Dullabcherra – Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express, a crucial addition to the rail network, will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Commencing its journey on October 21, 2023, this express train will connect Guwahati and Dullabcherra, enhancing connectivity for the region.
Guwahati – Silchar Extension (Train No. 12514/12513): To facilitate travel to Silchar, the service of train No. 12514/12513 from Guwahati to Secunderabad will be extended up to Silchar, offering a more convenient travel option for passengers. The inaugural run for this service is scheduled for October 19, 2023.
Agartala – Sabroom – Agartala DEMU (Train No. 07688/07687): A daily Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) service between Agartala and Sabroom will be launched, offering efficient transportation options for the region. Regular operations for this service will commence on October 20, 2023.
Kamakhya – Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Agartala Extension (Train No. 12520/12519): Extending connectivity to Agartala, this train service from Kamakhya to Lokmanya Tilak (T) will now include Agartala as a stop. Commencing regular operations on October 22, 2023, this extension is set to improve connectivity for the region.
