Uttar Pradesh declares Black Fungus an epidemic as cases suddenly started to spike up.
Trailing Covid-19, now black fungus has set a huge mayhem throughout the country. Amidst which, Uttar Pradesh government on Friday, has announced black fungus as an epidemic by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, taking into consideration the rising number of cases.
The cases registered so far tops to be 169 along with 8 fatalities. Government, however, had asked the states and UTs to make it mandatory for the government and private hospitals to report any suspected and confirmed cases whatsoever.
Many other states and UTs namely Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chandigarh etc. had already declared Black Fungus or mucormycosis as an epidemic.
Black Fungus has been seen to affect 1500 covid survivors of Maharashtra with 90 fatalities and also several Infections are seen in the national capital.
