On Wednesday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists gathered at the base of the Khudiram statue in Silchar to protest against the attack on pilgrims in Jammu & Kashmir.
The attack, carried out by Pakistani Islamic jihadists on June 9, targeted a bus returning from Vaishno Devi, killing ten pilgrims and injuring many others.
In response, the protesters burned effigies of the jihadists, condemning the brutal assault. Speaking to the media, VHP Vice President Ashish De emphasized the need for stringent action against the perpetrators.
The VHP and Bajrang Dal officials expressed their outrage over the attack, demanding immediate arrest and strict punishment for the Pakistani jihadists involved.
They also submitted a memorandum to the President of India through the District Magistrate, urging for swift justice and heightened security measures.
