The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Southeast region held a two-day semi-annual planning meeting in Karimganj, which concluded on Sunday evening.

The event began with a lighting ceremony at the Saraswati Vidya Niketan auditorium, led by Regional President Shantanu Nayak, Guwahati Area Dharma Prasar head Purnachandra Mondal, and Regional Secretary Sameer Das.

On the second day, the meeting saw the participation of Guwahati Area Organization Minister Dinesh Tewari.

Discussions during the meeting covered a review of past activities, regional and district submissions, and plans.

Officials expressed concern over the persecution of Hindu and other minority communities in Bangladesh and announced the launch of a helpline for affected individuals at (0091)(011) 26103495.

The meeting also addressed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and outlined plans for VHP’s 60th anniversary celebrations, scheduled from August 24 to September 1.

The meeting concluded with the release of the Northeast Tribal Service Association’s 2021-23 report, presented by Regional Organization Minister Dilip Deb, President Shantanu Nayak, and Secretary Sameer Das.
