The residents of Vidyaratanpur village in Dholai are facing an acute water crisis, despite the presence of a water project in the Vidyaratanpur Bazar area. The situation has reached a dire state, with the villagers enduring seven long years without access to clean drinking water. The water project, inaugurated in the year 2006, provided water for only one year after its launch, leaving the villagers in a state of despair.
Local sources revealed that the foundation stone of the water project was laid by Minister Parimal Shukla Vaidya, raising the hopes of the community for a continuous supply of clean water. However, since the initial year of operation, the water supply has come to a complete halt, leaving the villagers in a desperate situation.
Expressing their anguish, the people of Vidyaratanpur lamented the unfulfilled promises and the prolonged suffering they have endured due to the absence of clean drinking water. Despite numerous appeals, their pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears.
"We are not asking for luxuries; all we need is access to clean water, a basic necessity of life. Our children are suffering, and the elderly are struggling. It's disheartening to see our pleas for help going unanswered," said a resident of Vidyaratanpur.
The villagers have now turned to the district administration, urging them to intervene and expedite the process of providing clean drinking water to their community. With their hopes pinned on the authorities, the residents of Vidyaratanpur hope that their cries for help will be heard, and swift action will be taken to alleviate their suffering.
The situation in Vidyaratanpur stands as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by several communities across the region, emphasizing the urgent need for comprehensive solutions to ensure the fundamental right to clean and safe drinking water for all citizens.
