Violence erupts in Manipur: Attack on Chief minister's escort leaves jawan injured

During the assault, gunmen targeted the advance escort vehicle of the Chief Minister, injuring a jawan from the Manipur Rifles who was part of the security detail.

In response to the ambush, the Central Police and Assam Rifles swiftly launched an extensive operation in the surrounding area to apprehend the perpetrators and secure the region.

The attack has intensified concerns over security and stability in the district, highlighting the volatile situation in Jiribam. The Chief Minister had planned to visit Jiribam on Tuesday, and the advance escort team was sent ahead to ensure the safety and preparation for his visit.
