Vivekananda Road’s exclusive offer: Free health risks with every sip!
Vivekananda Road’s exclusive offer: Free health risks with every sip!
Residents of Lane 27 on Greater Vivekananda Road in Silchar have been deprived of clean drinking water for nearly three years.
The locals have been forced to drink filthy and foul-smelling drain water, which has led to severe health issues, including the deaths of two individuals, Sajjal Saha and Raju Bhowmik, and many others being bedridden.
Despite repeated complaints to the administration and relevant authorities, no action has been taken, according to the locals.
On Tuesday, the affected residents submitted a memorandum to the local administration, urgently requesting immediate intervention.
The community has expressed their frustration, stating that the lack of clean drinking water has pushed them to their limits. The contaminated water has caused diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis among families.
The residents warned that if their issue is not resolved within the next seven days, they will be forced to take to the streets in protest.
