In a significant move towards uplifting the region, Water Resources Minister Piyush Hazarika commenced his three-day visit to Barak with a series of impactful programs. The minister's visit was marked by the inauguration of the Assamese Food Mela 2023, a delightful event that celebrated the rich culinary heritage of the state. The grand inauguration took place at the Gandhi Mela ground in Silchar, following the minister's arrival at Kumbirgram Airport.

During his visit, Minister Hazarika took the opportunity to explore the food stalls set up by talented women from various self-help groups across different regions. Their culinary expertise and entrepreneurial spirit were on display, showcasing the diversity and flavors of Assamese cuisine.

A significant highlight of the visit was the Arunoday 2.0 distribution ceremony held at the Silchar Police Ground. The event witnessed the distribution of Arunodaya cards and documents to 35,044 beneficiaries, signifying a substantial step toward improving the lives of the people in the region. District Governor of Cachar, Rohan Kumar, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, Lakshiputra MLA Kaishik Rai, District Council Chairman Amitabh Rai, Udharband MLA Mihir Kanti Som, and other departmental officials graced the occasion with their presence.

Addressing the audience, Minister Piyush Hazarika expressed his gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma for the ongoing developmental initiatives undertaken for the welfare of the people. He also announced a significant update regarding the Arunoday scheme, stating that beneficiaries currently receive Tk 1,250. However, he shared the promising news that the Arunoday amount would soon increase to Tk 1,400 in the coming days. This announcement was met with enthusiasm from the attendees, highlighting the positive impact of such initiatives on the local communities.

Minister Hazarika's visit not only marked the unveiling of various developmental projects but also reinforced the government's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the people of Barak. As the programs continue, the region eagerly anticipates the positive changes these initiatives will bring to their lives.
