Young couple rescued alive from Barak river after attempted suicide

young couple was rescued alive from the Barak River on Sunday night. The duo was saved by people who were attending the immersion ceremony of Goddess Manasa. 

The incident occurred when the couple jumped into the Barak River from the Sadarghat Bridge in Silchar. They were found and rescued approximately one kilometer away from the spot.

The couple was spotted by the devotees who were on their way to immerse the idol of Goddess Manasa. They quickly brought the duo to safety and alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police took the couple to the hospital.

It is reported that the couple, hailing from Sonai and Dudhpatil, attempted to end their lives due to a romantic relationship.
