Young girl injured in Shillongpatty's fire needs urgent surgery, family request government for financial support
The family of 19-year-old Rasita Singh, who was seriously injured in a fire at Bashundhara Apartments in Shillongpatty, Silchar, is appealing for government assistance to cover her urgent medical treatment.
Rasita Singh was severely injured on Saturday when she fell from the fourth floor of the building during the intense blaze. Locals quickly came to her aid and transported her to the hospital, where it was determined that her leg was broken and she requires surgery.
However, due to financial constraints, her family is unable to afford the necessary advanced medical treatment. Rasita's father, is a day labourer, making it difficult for the family to bear the costs of the surgery.
Rasita's father and brother, Premjit Singh, publicly highlighted their financial crisis and sought help from the government, as well as from Computer Institute authorities and Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shome.
They stressed that without the surgery, Rasita might face long-term difficulties in walking. The family is urgently requesting support to ensure that Rasita receives the treatment she needs to recover fully.
