Youth succumbs in a road accident after being hit by a bike at Sonabarighat.

A fatal accident took place at Sonabarighat's Nathpara area where a youth succumbed after being hit by a bike at around 5 pm yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Joy Kumar Goala aged 18, a resident of Hatikuri Grant located in Lakhipur Police Station area.

As per reports, Joy was heading towards Atal Basti on foot when a fast-moving bike had hit him in Nathpara area after which he was severely injured. Joy was then taken to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for further treatment where he breathed his last.

However, the locals informed that after hitting Joy, the biker too fell down and got minor injuries. But soon after witnessing the crowd, he dropped the bike and escaped from the scene. The police have seized the bike.
